Valvedrifter
"And as I wind on down this road
I’m not really sure if I should go
But this is the path we both have chosen
Where it heads no one really knows"

Tlaxcala Storm - Valvedrifter

The  Players:
John Floy - lead guitar, keyboards
Sean Douglas - bass guitar, supporting vocals
Stefan Ice - drums, percussions
Jim Wilson - vocals, rhythm guitar

The Music:
All four members of valvedrifter have different influences, ranging from the psychedelica of the late 60's and progressive and art-rock of the 70's through the grunge-alternative and funk of the 90's and the current nu-metal edge. This is reflected in their original music, which tends to involve chaotic, yet changing melodic progressions with multi-metered drum patterns and intelligent lyrics that can cover any topic. Sometimes this results in the direction of the song changing abruptly midstream... captivating our audience... creating a sense of suspense... provoking thought... making the listeners query, "What's next?" This is a very unique sound - a sound that cannot be slotted into any singular genre of rock. It's all-too-easy to put together something predictable, but that's not what valvedrifter is all about.

"Valvedrifter’s philosophy is quite simple: they go to great lengths to make their music stand out from the low-level static of everything else that's out there, either on the radio or live. The differing influences that each individual member brings to band definitely make for interesting music. Most of their songs are very artistic, complex and progressive, but also have a major groove at the same time. Those people looking to expose their senses to something refreshingly different should enjoy valvedrifter."
